If you think that Kaiser Kare is getting something for nothing then think again!

Recently I had a former Kaiser patient insist on telling me how great that corporation is. His company had switched his medical coverage over to Blue Cross and he was really upset about it.

It seems that while at Kaiser he and his wife didn't really have any medical problems but as soon as they got Blue Cross the new doctor found that his 300 plus weight on a 5 1/2 foot frame had developed a tiny problem with diabetes and that his eyes had also developed problems. He is angry that now he has to be monitored all the time and really upset that he has to pay a portion of the bill. He is more upset about the bill than the medical condition.

His wife also just overnight, according to him developed mid life medical problems. She has had to have hospitalizations, operations and transfusions and again he had to pay a portion of the bill.

Under Kaiser they just didn't have these problems and he certainly didn't have these bills. Again, the bill was his main concern. He is certain in his mind that these medical problems just inconveniently developed overnight.

He also blames me for what he thought was a permanent free ride to medical care ending. I had to tell him that it is nice to be given such power but in this case his medical or financial responsibilities were not my doing.

I just think that he just wants something for nothing and refuses to look at the entire picture. The truth is that he never got something for nothing. He will spend the rest of is life paying for the nothing that Kaiser provided him and his wife while his employer paid the bill.
For those that haven't yet figured out if they are also trying to also get something for
nothing here are a couple of articles that might help you make an intelligent choice.
